Thank you to all our volunteers, the organising committee, fantastic stall holders, volunteers from QuiltNSW and all those who helped to make our show a success! With all of your help we have been able to raise around $10,000 for the RFS and the Springwood High School textile department! Without the many hands of friends we are not able to run an event that is so treasured by the quilting community of the Blue Mountains region. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

Last day of the Springwood Quilt Show

It's hard to believe 2 days have already flown by and it's Sunday already!
The Springwood Quilt Show is on again today from 10-4pm so you still have a chance to see all the beautiful quilts on display.

Although the show is non-juried, we do award a Viewers Choice each day of the show.  It's great for visitors to be able to choose and favourite and write a message on the voting slip for the quilter.

Friday's Viewers Choice award went to Kyeen Mc Pherson for her wonderful Fantasy quilt.

Kyeen is a renowned long arm quilter and this quilt certainly shows off her amazing talent.

The quilt pattern is Pure Imagination by Sew Quirky. It's so fun and whimsical with floating elephants...

...and a rabbit flying a plane.

Saturday's Viewers Choice award went to Ann Langley's beautiful Farmers Wife quilt.

Great choices of fabrics and colours and perfect piecing make this quilt a delight to look at.

I wonder which will be the viewers choice for today?  Come along and pick your favourite. The show opens at 10am until 4pm. Springwood High School, Faulconbridge. It's easy to follow the signs along the highway.

Quick pics of the show

It's been a busy few days at the Springwood Quilt Show.

Thursday was the set up day and everything ran smoothly and the plain school hall was soon transformed into a colourful and vibrant quilt show.

My favourite photo of the day was this one with Marilyn peeking over the top of the quilts.

One of the best things about setting up a quilt show is getting to see the backs before they're hidden by other quilts.

This is the back of an amazing Frida Kahlo quilt.

A mix of colourful blooms.

And then theres the details you notice as the quilts are unfolded.

Friday morning arrived and there were lines of early birds ready to see the show.

We had a busload of lovely ladies from the Illawarra Quilters.

Up on the stage we have Isobel Lancashire demonstrating hand quilting. She's at a table with Maureen Teager who is there representing Quilt NSW.

Just to make you laugh heres one of the signs to remind people not to touch the quilts.

Come along to the show. It's on all weekend from 10-4pm at the Springwood High School, Faulconbridge.
