Fabulous prizes!!

The Springwood Community Quilt Show is a bit different to a lot of other shows in that is non-juried. This allows people to enter without the pressure of having their quilts judged with close scrutiny. However there is a Viewer's Choice prize awarded each day of the show. Every visitor gets to nominate their favourite quilt. We also allow some space for people to write why they chose the quilt as their favourite. This becomes wonderful feedback for the quilter, it's always encouraging to hear positive comments about a quilt you've taken the time to share.

We are so lucky this year to have wonderful Viewer's Choice prizes sponsored by Material Obsession.

We'll bundle these up but I couldn't wait to take photos to share, so for now just scroll through and see all the great items. Books, Hexagon viewers, amazing fabric panels, super fun Kathy Doughty fabrics!!!

Thank you so much Kathy Doughty and Material Obsession. You are such great supporters of the quilting community.

We also have a Lucky Door Prize every year. This year we have a voucher for a night away at the Redleaf Resort in Blackheath. Imagine having wine and cheese on arrival, and then a lovely spa and enjoying a relaxing getaway in the mountains. Sounds like bliss to me!!

We also like to let our volunteers know we appreciate them by offering prizes. Every person that helps out over over the duration of the show has their name put into the draw for these great prizes.

A $50 voucher from the Granny Square in Katoomba

A beautiful set of 4 china mugs from Rick Rutherfords Gift Shop in Lawson
There'll be more prizes too including a surprise pack of sewing goodies from Leutenegger.
bottles of wine and other fabulous things.

It's always nice to have a quilt photo so here is one of the Viewers Choice quilts from last year.
Venice Rose and was pieced and quilted by Carolyn Stanton. The description reads " Inspired by a quilt called St Mark's Wall Hanging in last years show. Subtitles "Who's afraid of Colour". The designer of the quilt is Norah McMeeking, Bella Bella Quilts.
