2016 Quilt Show wrap up.

It was another wonderful day at the Springwood Community Quilt Show and before we knew it it was time to hand out out awards and pick the raffle and lucky door prize winners.
Isobel picked out the lucky door prize. The lucky winner was Deirdre East.
Here's Chris Jurd handing out prizes. A big thank you to Hobby Sew at Ryde for sponsoring lots of great prizes for our winners.

Isobel Lancashire is such a gem for spending time demonstrating quilting techniques. These flowers are a small token of our appreciation.

And of course Chris Jurd was given flowers for being such a great featured quilter. Her quilt display will have no doubt inspired many more beautiful versions of her quilts.

Here is Caroline Stanton, Friday's viewers choice winner,
receiving her prize from Chris Jurd.
and here she is with her award winning quilt.

Today's viewers choice quilter wasn't at the hall when her name was announced so we couldn't get a photo of her with her quilt but here is the photo of today's Viewers Choice.

Wow!! what an amazing quilt!!!
Fire Island Hosta was pieced by Christine Matthews.
The description of the quilt reads: "Spikey paper pieced leaves in batiks."
The pattern is by Judy and Brad Niemeyer.

This quilt really stood out and caught your eye as you walked into the hall, no wonder it was a popular choice.

Last but not least an enormous Thank You to all the volunteers who helped throughout the show, from setting up frames, hanging quilts, white gloving, helping in the cafe, selling tickets, those who baked things for the cafe and many more jobs that go into making it such a successful show. It would be impossible to run the show without your help.

So that's the last day of the 2016 Springwood Community Quilt Show. We'll share more photos of the show in the next post but that's enough for now. It's time to to put our feet up and think of the quilts we'll make for next year's show.
