A new beginning

Sewing has started on our raffle quilt for the 2013 Springwood Community Quilt Show!
We had a fun day sorting fabrics and preparing packs to be taken away and sewn into lots and lots of hexagons.
Here's part of the committee hard at work last Saturday.
Some girls were a bit apprehensive about all the hand sewing involved but when it's shared around lots of helpers the task is diminished don't you think.

Fabrics were chosen or discarded.

Tania and Suzie deep in discussion.

What a lovely combination.

Thanks to Marilyn for doing all the prep for the blocks - only 263 of them!
Can't wait til the next meeting to see it all coming together.
